Former Westpac Bank chairman Lindsay Maxsted has joined UBS as non-executive chairman for Australasia.
Maxsted was a long-term managing partner at KPMG, specialising in corporate restructuring, turnarounds and insolvency. He was chief executive from 2001 to 2007.
Post KPMG, he held several non-executive director roles in top Australian companies, including Westpac, Transurban Group and BHP.
He is a former managing director of Align Capital.
"Lindsay brings a wealth of corporate and board experience to UBS, including a deep knowledge of financial markets, the Australian financial services sector and strong risk management experience," said UBS country heads Nick Hughes and Anthony Sweetman in a memo.
"In his new role, Lindsay will assist us in further developing and strengthening our market-leading businesses, including senior client engagement, strategic business planning and staff development," the co-heads said.
