LGIAsuper has announced the appointment of Ray Burton to its board as a member representative, effective 1 July 2018.

He will be joined by fellow new member representatives, Jennifer Sanders and Ros Heit. The three new directors will replace Noel Cass, Fiona Connor and Ron Curtis, who will retire from the board in July.

Burton has worked in local government for 41 years, notably as CEO, Townsville City Council; CEO, Bendigo City Council, Victoria; and and CEO, Pine Rivers Shire Council.

LGIAsuper will also welcome a new employer representative to its board, Sunshine Coast Mayor and Local Government Association of Queensland president, Mark Jamieson, who also joins in July.

Commenting, LGIAsuper's chair, John Smith, said: "LGIAsuper is one of the few funds to benefit from equal representation of member-appointed Directors, employer-nominated Directors and independent Directors, including an independent Chair."
