A spokesperson for Franklin Templeton has confirmed that Alastair Hunter, lead analyst and investment manager for financials at Balanced Equity Management, a subsidiary of Franklin Templeton, will succeed Andrew Sisson as chief investment officer on 1 January 2019. Sisson currently holds the dual role of managing director and CIO, having established the firm in 1985.
Hunter, who joined Balanced Equity Management in 2014, has over 28 years of investment market experience as an investment researcher specialising in financial companies.
Before joining Balanced Equity Management, Hunter worked at Goldman Sachs Australia as head of investment research for nine years. Prior to this, he worked for JBWere (before its acquisition by Goldman Sachs) in London as a financials analyst for three years and in Melbourne as a bank analyst for 11 years.
