KKR names Australian Head

Global investment firm KKR has announced that Scott Bookmyer, member and chief operating officer of KKR Asia, will also take direct responsibility for KKR Australia, effective 1 July 2016. He will relocate to Sydney from Hong Kong for the role.

Commenting on the news, Joseph Y. Bae, member & managing partner of KKR Asia, said: "Transferring Scott to Sydney will leverage his experience - both globally and in the Asia-Pacific region - to strengthen our franchise in a strategically important market. Scott will provide proven leadership across KKR's varied and growing investment platforms in Australia, which include private equity, real estate, energy and resources and credit."

Bookmyer said: "I'm excited to join the KKR team in this vibrant market where we have successfully built many investment platforms. Bookmyer, who joined KKR Asia in 2014, will retain his roles as Asia COO and chair of the Asia Portfolio Management Committee, and will also continue to serve on the Asia Private Equity Investment Committee.
