Kelly to head institutional distribution for Janus Henderson

Janus Henderson has promoted Tom Kelly to head of institutional distribution for Australia.

Kelly first joined the firm in 2016 as institutional sales director. He was previously spent nearly seven years as a VP with BlackRock in Sydney where he was responsible for developing and maintaining key account and multi-manager relationships.

In his new role, Kelly will lead the firm's Australian institutional distribution team and will work with institutional clients to deliver tailored solutions. He'll report to Janus Henderson head of Australia Matt Gaden. "With the ongoing consolidation in the market leading to fewer but larger funds, it has become increasingly important that we are able to connect with the market and our clients to solve problems or challenges, as opposed to simply pushing a product," said Gaden.

Janus Henderson announced two other promotions along with Kelly, including Jaxon Rudduck as head of consultant relations and Fawzul Ahmed as senior client account manager.

"Our efforts to further grow and diversify the Institutional book will be dependent on our ability to tailor outcomes for clients to meet a need with differentiated strategies. These promotions reinforce the firm's commitment to growing its institutional business in Australia, as it is a critical component to our long-term vision for growth," said Gaden.
