After nine years as JP Morgan Asset Management's local head of funds, David Hallifax has left to pursue other opportunities.

Hallifax joined the business from Schroders, where he was head of retail sales.

Previously, he worked for AMP Capital Investors as an investment account manager and IOOF as a business development manager.

"David has been a valued leader and contributor to the success of the firm's Funds business across Australia and New Zealand," a company spokesman said.

"We would like to thank David for his leadership across the asset management business, helping grow the business profile, product range, and team during his tenure.

"We thank David for all his contributions over the last nine years and wish him all the best for the future."

JP Morgan Asset Management has since combined the head of funds and head of strategic relationships roles into a new position called the head of wholesale, Australia and New Zealand.

Mark Carlile has been appointed to the newly created role.

Carlile joined the asset manager from Vanguard Investments eight years ago.

Earlier, he worked as a national manager - key accounts, research, and platforms at Vanguard Investments Australia and as a manager research and platform relationships - asset management at Goldman Sachs JBWere Asset Management.
