JBWere names new country head

Maria Lykouras will helm JBWere's Australian business joining from Commonwealth Bank.

In the newly created role of executive JBWere Australia,  Lykouras will report to Justin Greiner, the wealth manager's chief executive.

She has spent the last ten years with Australia's largest bank, most recently as CommPrivate's general manager of advice.

Before this, Lykouras worked in strategic risk, compliance, and investment advisory roles at CBA, BT Financial Group, Count Financial, Australia Skandia, ipac/AXA, and Citibank.

"Maria's track record in strategy, execution, and delivery made her the standout candidate to lead our Australian business," said Greiner.

"She has a deep understanding of the advice industry, and we look forward to leveraging her experience to help us focus on accelerating the growth in our business."

Commenting on her appointment, Lykouras noted that the advice business has evolved over the past 23 years, and she looked forward to shaping its direction in her new role at JB Were.

Greiner remains as the chief executive of the wealth manager with Craig Patrick, executive for JBWere New Zealand also reporting to him.

As country head for Australia, Lykouras will lead the JBWere Australia team and oversee key relationships across the private wealth and broader National Australia Bank Group.
