Janus Henderson hires from T.Rowe Price

Janus Henderson Investors has announced an internal promotion and external hire as it strengthens its presence in the financial adviser and intermediary markets.

First, the asset manager has appointed Adam Cassidy as retail sales director.

Cassidy joins from T. Rowe Price, where he was a relationship manager for four years.

He previously worked at BT Financial Group as an account manager and AMP as a manager of advice governance.

Reporting to the local head of retail distribution Jordan Tang, Cassidy is tasked with expanding relationships with financial advisers and intermediary consultants in New South Wales, Western Australia and the ACT.

Janus Henderson country head Matt Gaden called the recruit "a vital addition" reinforcing the asset manager's foothold in Australian fixed income and bolstering its global equities capabilities.

"For over a decade, Adam has worked closely with advisers to manage and grow their businesses, and advisers will value his expertise working across global equities, fixed income and multi-asset strategies," Gaden said.

Meanwhile, Janus Henderson also elevated sales director Craig McDonald to the newly created role of head of retail research for Australia.

McDonald has been with Janus Henderson Investors for six years.

The promotion will see him manage relationships with key decision-makers across partnered research houses.

He will also oversee the firm's New Zealand distribution efforts in the intermediary channel.
