IOOF appoints Independent Director for APRA regulated entity boards

IOOF has announced the appointment of Lindsay Smartt as an independent director of APRA regulated entity boards IOOF Investment Management Limited and IOOF Limited. These boards continue to remain majority independent of the IOOF board.

Commenting on the appointment, IOOF said: "Smartt is an experienced non-executive Director with significant expertise in the financial services industry, following an extensive career in various risk, finance and actuarial roles for large organisations."

The firm added: "Lindsay was chief risk officer at Munich Re Australasia and previously held senior finance and actuarial positions at MLC and Hannover Life Re."

IOOF also announced the appointment of new independent board director Michelle Somerville.
