Independent Director joins Challenger

Challenger has announced the appointment of Melanie Willis as an independent director on its board, effective 6 December 2017.

Willis has corporate finance, investment and public company experience gained in both executive and non-executive roles. Previously, she held senior executive roles at NRMA Investments, Deutsche Bank and Bankers Trust Australia. She is currently a non-executive director of Southern Cross Media Group and Mantra Group, and a board member of Chief Executive Women.

At Challenger, she is joined by fellow new independent director, John Green, who is currently the deputy chair of QBE Insurance Group.

Commenting on their appointments, Challenger chair, Peter Polson, said: "We are very pleased to welcome these two outstanding directors who bring valuable skills and perspectives to our Board. Both Willis and Green will also join the board of the Challenger Life Company.
