IAG creates strategy and innovation division, promotes leader

IAG has appointed their chief customer officer, Julie Batch, to lead their new strategy and innovation division, which is a reorganisation of the customer labs division and the group's digital teams from New Zealand and Australia.

The change for the insurance multinational was confirmed by MD and CEO Peter Harmer. "We continue to evolve our operating model to better align our customer and corporate strategies and further foster a culture of innovation as we consider and create new and different services for our customers," said Harmer. He described the operating model changes as a logical step for IAG as it transitions to the next phase of their strategy.

Batch was in charge of the previous customer labs division within IAG, and was responsible for enhancing the customer experience using data and insights.

Before joining IAG more than 14 years ago, Batch held insurance and underwriting roles for Monde Re, Copenhagen Re, and Gen Re. She also currently holds directorships with the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative and Ambiata.
