HESTA appoints Employer Representative to board

HESTA has confirmed to Industry Moves the appointment of Saranne Cooke as an employer representative on the $43 billion industry fund's board, effective 1 January 2018.

Cooke represents Leading Aged Services Australia and replaces Valerie Lyons who stepped down from the board after five years of service.

Cooke has experience working in executive roles in finance and accounting, information technology, marketing and strategy disciplines. Currently, she is a professional director serving on a number of boards across a variety of industries including education, health, sport and charities.

In addition to her various board roles, she is the inaugural chair of the Western Region NSW Committee of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

At HESTA, she is joined by fellow new board member, David Smith, who joins as an employee representative from the Australian Services Union.
