FIIG Securities has confirmed to Industry Moves the departure of Simon Michell from the role of head of intermediaries, effective December 2017.
Michell first joined FIIG in December 2007 as a senior dealer. Over the following 10 years he held various roles with the firm, including as an associate director, director of fixed income sales and national manager for FIIG adviser services. He was appointed to his most recent role in February 2017.
Commenting on his departure, Michell told Industry Moves that after reaching the thirty year "milestone" in Australian fixed income markets, it was time to take a break.
"I will be taking a career break in 2018 to spend time with family, do some travel and tick a few things off my bucket list. I will be returning to the market in early 2019."
