Former managing director of M&A advisory firm Greenhill Caliburn, Graeme Samuel, has been appointed to the board of the National Stock Exchange of Australia (NSXA).

Samuel was the second chair of the ACCC, in office from 2003-2011. He also was a partner in the Melbourne law firm Phillips Fox & Masel and was an executive director with Macquarie Bank in the early 1980s. He was also a member of the APRA Panel to conduct a Prudential Inquiry into CBA and is currently chairing a panel conducting a capability review with APRA.

He's currently a professorial fellow in Monash University's Business School and the School Public Health and Preventative Medicine. He also has a relationship as a councillor of the Australian National University as chair of the finance committee.

As a director, Samuel has a keen interest in mental and physical health, serving as chair of Dementia Australia Research Foundation, South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network, and Lorica Health Pty Limited.

Outside of his executive and board roles, Samuel has been on the Australian Rugby League Commission, which governs the NFRL, and is a former commissioner of the Australian Football League.
