Former UBS stalwart and K2 Asset Management research head George Boubouras has joined the board of ESSSuper, the fund for emergency services and Victorian government employees.

Boubouras has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry in a variety of range of roles. as an investment strategist, portfolio manager and chief investment officer.

He is a director and investment adviser at Salter Brothers Asset Management (SBAM) and a member of the investment committee at Paua Wealth Management

Boubouras started his career as an economist, working for Westpac, and NSW Treasury.

He then joined UBS Wealth Management in January 2008 as head of investment strategy and consulting. He is responsible for research and investments across all asset classes and oversees portfolio construction.

The investment professional joined UBS from Macquarie Bank, where he was in charge of investment and strategy.

He has held senior investment roles at Contango Asset Management Group, HSBC Asset Management Equity Trustees and LGT Crestone Wealth Management.

He is also currently a part-time university lecturer in finance.

In addition, he is involved in the community and the sports sector. He was a Director of the Blues Foundation at The Carlton Football Club, one of the oldest Australian rules football clubs.
