Position: Chair, Risk Committee

The former chief risk officer for Macquarie Funds Management, Virginia Malley, has joined Future Super as chair of its risk committee.

Malley brings more than 20 years of experience across a variety of banking and investing roles. Since she left Macquarie in 2012, Malley has moved into the non-executive director space. She has been the chair of the Pinnacle Fund Services compliance committee and a director with Perpetual Equity Investment Company and Perpetual Superannuation.

Future Super also announced several other appointments today, including Karen McLeod and Geraldine Barlow-Bolt joining the organisation's investment committee.

Ruth McClelland will also join the organisation early next year as company secretary and general counsel.

"Future Super is growing rapidly," said group CEO Simon Sheikh. "Membership in the Fund has more than doubled this year alone. We're bringing in the right people to grow Australia's retirement savings to create a future free from climate change and inequality.

"Building a world-class team is a key enabler of our growth; Ruth, Virginia, Geraldine and Karen are integral parts of that and bring significant expertise and proven track records in ethical investments."

The organisation has also announced that chief investment officer Dan East will step back from his executive role to take a different position with an increased focus on the group's governance.
