The Investment Management Consultants Association - Australia (IMCA) has announced that Kim Bowater has been appointed to its board, effective 28 November 2016.

Bowater is currently a director at Frontier Advisors, which she joined in 2002. She is also the lead consultant for several large superannuation funds, and a member of Frontier's investment committee.

Previously she was at Deloitte, where she provided advisory services to institutional clients including superannuation funds, investment managers, broker/dealers and custodian banks worldwide.

Commenting on Bowater's appointment - as well as the appointments of fellow new board directors, Annika Bradley, Hendrie Koster, Paul Newfield and Keri Pratt - Brett Elvish, chair of IMCA Australia, said: "These appointments are a nod to the past and a nod to the future. We have been careful to ensure we have the right mix of our traditional constituency as well as sufficient skills and experience of where we are headed and what we need to get there."

He added: "We also have been mindful of diversity with the three female appointments to improve the Board's gender diversity and we also are pleased to make an appointment that is based outside of Sydney and Melbourne."

Retiring from the board are Robert Hogg, Graeme Miller, Paul O'Connor, Ian Patrick and Janice Sengupta.
