Former Spitfire chief to lead Centrepoint

Centrepoint Alliance has appointed former BT GM John Shuttleworth as its new chief executive officer.

Shuttleworth spent the last year with wealth management fintech Spitfire, which went into administration late last year. He was previously the general manager of platforms and investments with BT Financial Group. He also led the development of BT Super for Life and worked across BT Panorama during his 14 years with the company.

"We are pleased to attract n executive of the calibre of John to lead the Company," said Centrepoint chair John Shuttleworth. "Over the last three years, Centrepoint Alliance has focused on building and strengthening our licensee services through a period of significant industry change. John will lead the Company through our next phase of growth as we focus on expanding our service offering and digitising key services."

Shuttleworth said, "Having the opportunity to lead Centrepoint Alliance through the next phase of growth is a privilege. Over the last few months, I have had an opportunity to consult with the Board and Senior Executive Team. Shuttleworth takes over from Angus Benbow, who held the top job with Centrepoint for several years before departing earlier this year to take up a role outside of financial services.
