Former K2 Advisors MD takes on new venture

Samuel Mann has confirmed to Industry Moves that he has partnered with Ironbark Asset Management to establish Longreach Alternatives, a firm providing tailored alternatives investment solutions to both institutional and retail investors.

Mann will take on the role of chief executive officer and is to be joined by Andrew Flitcroft, who will be the firm's chief operating officer.

Mann was the APAC regional head of Franklin Solutions as well as the managing director for K2 Advisors from 2007 until December 2016. In 2013, K2 Advisors became a subsidiary of Franklin Templeton.

Commenting on his new venture, Mann said: "I am extremely excited to be launching a new Alternatives asset management firm. For too long the broader Australian investor has not had access to the same pool of alternatives capability that the big end of town has. Longreach will be bringing to market a range of innovative institutional grade alternative management capability."
