Sustainable investing firm, Nanuk Asset Management, has confirmed to Industry Moves the appointment of Stephen O'Brien as its new head of institutional sales.

O'Brien has 30 years' experience in institutional sales, including previous senior roles with investment firms Schroder, Tyndall (now Nikko) and UBS.

He also spent five years as chief executive officer of Deutsche Asset Management, Australia, and a stint as an executive director with advisory and marketing firm, Brookvine, before departing the industry in 2014 to focus on his role as the Australian director of Oasis Africa.

Commenting on his appointment, Nanuk's chief executive, Eric Siegloff, said: "I'm looking forward to leveraging Stephen's extensive experience and skill to extend our investment offering to institutional clients".

O'Brien's appointment follows the appointment of Dan Powell, former head of relationship management for platform services at OneVue, who heads up distribution for Nanuk focussed on the retail sector.
