Former Commonwealth Bank Group Super CIO joins bfinance

Independent investment consultancy bfinance has announced the appointment of Gerard Parlevliet as senior strategic advisor.

In the newly-created role, Parlevliet will work closely with bfinance Australia director Frithjof van Zyp and senior associate Vishal Sharma to enhance the firm's services for Australian institutional investors, including superannuation funds, endowments and foundations, family offices and insurers, bfinance said.

Parlevliet has over 28 years' experience in the Australian superannuation industry, previously serving as chief investment officer at Commonwealth Bank Group Super. Currently, he holds non-executive roles at Prime Super, La Trobe Financial and the CBHS Health Fund, and sits on various committees for the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA).
