Former AustralianSuper Director joins First Super board

First Super has appointed Scott McDine as an employee representative on its board, effective 1 September 2017.

He replaces outgoing director, Dave Kirner, who joined the $2.6 billion super fund in 2010.

McDine is a former director of AustralianSuper and Cbus, a former executive member of the ACTU, and a former National Secretary of the Australian Workers Union.

Commenting on his appointment to the First Super board, CEO, Bill Watson, said: "Scott McDine has devoted his life to advocating for working people, not only through national union leadership but other representative bodies that represent workers' interests.With many years' prior experience on other Industry Super Fund boards, Scott will be an extremely valuable addition to our Board."

He added: "Scott's appointment will bring perspectives outside of our own industry and help broaden the skill and diversity of our Board."

McDine will also sit on the fund's administration & marketing committee.
