Fitzpatricks appoints Head of Technical Services

Fitzpatricks Group has announced the appointment of Colin Lewis as head of technical services.

Lewis is one of three new appointees that Fitzpatricks Group's chief executive officer, John McMurdo, said will strengthen the group's advice offering at a time "where many in our sector are questioning their advice model."

Lewis has been an SMSF specialist adviser for the SMSF Association since 2006 and is a founding member of the ASFA 300 (SMSFs) unit committee. Prior to joining Fitzpatrick's, he worked at IPAC Securities and then Perpetual Private Clients, respectively as head of technical services and head of strategic advice. He is currently a regular contributor to the Australian Financial Review.

In his new role, according to the group, Lewis will "support advisers from a technical viewpoint, keeping advisers updated with technical strategies."

The other new appointees are Marnie Page, as head of adviser experience, and Amanda Wilson, as head of advice and licensee compliance.
