First Sentier promotes from within

Quin Smith has started a new position as head of wholesale sales for Australia and New Zealand at First Sentier Investors.

The fund said Smith will primarily be responsible for driving the business' wholesale strategy and client engagement.

The new role is a big step up for Smith, who worked as a key account manager for most of the five years he has worked at the asset manager.

He served as business development manager at Colonial First State for three years before taking on the same role at First Sentier in 2017 in Queensland.

Before that, Smith did a two-year stint at Zurich Insurance as a senior partnership development consultant following six years at McLauchlan & Partners as a financial adviser.

"I'm looking forward to supporting our team and continuing to provide quality, long-term investment capabilities for our clients and delivering on strategic growth for the business," Smith said on LinkedIn.
