Fidelity names head of Hong Kong

Fidelity International has appointed Maria Abbonizio as head of Hong Kong, effective 1 July.Abbonizio will take on the role alongside her current position as global chief administrative officer for investment management.

She has been with the firm for 18 years.

As head of Hong Kong, she reports to Rajeev Mittal, managing director for Asia Pacific ex-Japan.

Mittal is responsible for managing the firm's business in the region where Fidelity International has a range of wholesale, institutional and retail clients served through offices in Seoul, Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, and Sydney.

Abbonizio replaces KP Luk, who is retiring having led the Hong Kong workplace and personal investing business for more than 12 years.

Mittal said the appointment reflects the team's continued focus on growing the Hong Kong business.
