Fidelity bolsters its institutional team

Fidelity International has appointed Satoko Asai as director of institutional business.

In the new role, Asai will work closely with Fidelity's investment and sustainable investing teams to deliver sustainable solutions to institutional investors.

She joins Fidelity from Uniting Ethical Investors where she worked across both the wholesale and institutional distribution channels.

Before that, she worked at the Principles for Responsible Investment in Melbourne, and spent five years at Schroders in the institutional team in Tokyo.

Earlier in her career, she spent nearly nine years at Daiwa Securities Capital Markets as a director of global equities sales.

Back in 2006, Asai was hired as a business analyst at Goldman Sachs Japan.

"Satoko has extensive experience and strong academic credentials, particularly in sustainability and is a very well-regarded figure in the industry," says Tim Connolly, head of Fidelity's institutional business.

"We're delighted to have her on board and believe she will be an excellent addition to the team."
