National Australia Bank (NAB) has announced that Greg Miller, executive general manager, wealth advice, will depart following a restructure of the bank's wealth division, effective 4 December 2017.

Miller, whose career with NAB has spanned 35 years, was permanently appointed as EGM, wealth advice in June 2015 and had been acting in the role since the start of 2015, replacing John Flavell.

The restructure will also see NAB GM of advice partnerships, Ross Barnwell, and GM of NAB Financial Planning, Tim Steele, expanding their responsibilities, reporting directly to chief customer officer of consumer banking and wealth, Andrew Hagger.

Commenting on the restructure, Hagger said that the bank is "reducing the number of management layers" in order to be closer to its clients.

He added: "Our customers don't think about their banking and their wealth separately, and neither do we. These changes will enable better and faster decision making through a clearer line of sight across our entire Consumer Banking and Wealth business."
