Equip has announced the appointment of Penny Davy-Whyte as a member director on the board of the $14.5 billion super fund.

Davy-Whyte has held a number of director, executive and C-suite roles in various communication, media and marketing firms, as well as leading the federal government's media account from 2015 to January 2018. She is also currently the chair of the Australian Marketing Institute and a non-executive director of the Luke Batty Foundation.

Joining Davy-Whyte on the Equip board is fellow new member director, Lisbeth Rasmussen. Both will commence their three-year terms on 1 July 2018 and will replace former member directors, Pippa Leary and Jane Simon.

Commenting on their appointments, Equip chair, Andrew Fairley said: "Penny and Lisbeth bring a terrific depth of experience to further enhance the skills based Board that underpins Equip's success. On behalf of our Board I'd like to welcome them."

In acknowledging their predecessors, Fairley added: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank Pippa and Jane for their commitment, support and wisdom as valued members of the Board."

The Equip board is comprised of three member directors, three employer directors, and three independent directors.
