Energy Super has appointed David Beal to the newly-created role of general manager digital transformation & analytics. The appointment is one of the three new general manager appointments made as part of a restructure at the $6 billion industry super fund.

Beal has more than 15 years' experience in managing and transforming digital service delivery for organisations in the government, not for profit and commercial sectors. He previously worked in directorial roles for the Queensland Government, where he implemented strategies to improve the government's use of technology and digital channels.

In a statement, the fund said: "[Beale's] role at Energy Super will see him deliver member-centric business improvement programs and boost the fund's digital footprint."

Joining Beal are: Michael Abbott, former group strategy manager at QSuper, who has been appointed general manager strategy; and Phil McCarthy, former head of member services at QSuper, who has been appointed general manager member engagement and development.

Commenting on the appointments, Energy Super CEO Robyn Petrou said: "With almost 70 years' combined experience across the energy, finance and government sectors - Michael, Phil, and David bring substantial expertise in member service delivery and communication, technology and strategic growth."
