Energy Super appoints first CIO

Energy Super has announced the appointment of Kevin Wan Lum as the $7.8 billion industry fund's inaugural chief investment officer.

Wan Lum has more than 20 years' investment management experience in Australia and overseas. Most recently, he served as head of equities and alternatives, senior portfolio manager and acting CIO of VicSuper. Before this, he was portfolio manager of equities and property at Ibbotson and portfolio manager of implemented solutions at QIC.

In welcoming him to Energy Super, CEO Robyn Petrou said: "We look forward to [Kevin's] strong experience, outstanding investment skills and clear leadership in our next chapter of growth."

Wan Lum's appointment follows Energy Super's farewell of general manager investments Bill Graus in February 2019.
