Employer Representative departs Media Super board

Media Super has confirmed the departure of employer representative, Matthew Deaner, effective 30 June 2017.

Deaner joined the board in July 2015 and was nominated by Screen Producers Australia.

Deaner joined Screen Producers Australia as CEO in 2012 and before that was manager of strategy and research at Screen Australia. He has also previously worked as a manager of legal, policy & industry development at the Australian Subscription Television & Radio Association, as a business development manager at IF Media, and as a lawyer at Minter Ellison.

Replacing him at Media Super is Ann Tonks, who joined the board on 1 July 2017, nominated by Live Performance Australia.

Media Super has an arrangement with Live Performance Australia and Screen Producers Australia which sees them 'share' an employer representative director position and rotate the representative.

Deaner remains as an alternative director for the fund.
