MLC appoints new Insurance Sales Head

MLC has confirmed the appointment of Russell Hannah to the newly-created role of general manager, retail advised insurance sales.

Commenting on the appointment, MLC general manager of retail advised insurance, Melissa Heyhoe, said: "This is a key appointment for the business as it moves to becoming a standalone life insurance company."

She added: "As we transition into a specialist insurance business, it's imperative that we have end-to-end ownership and accountability for the way our business services and supports advisers. Russell's appointment will ensure we are at the forefront of driving organisational and broader industry change."

In the new role, Hannah will be responsible for the retail advised insurance team, overseeing distribution and sales, key account management, specialist insurance functions along with sales analytics and insights.

Hannah returns to MLC after a stint as state manager for NSW & ACT at BT Financial Group. At MLC he previously held the roles of national distribution manager; national manager, insurance; and acting head of sales, retail wealth products.
