Derivatives guru joins Ord Minnett

Wealth management group Ord Minnett has hired Trent Stewart, a specialist in equity derivative sales and trading, to strengthen its derivatives distribution.

Stewart worked in derivatives at JBWere and then at Goldman Sachs for eighteen years before leaving in December 2022.

In the new role, he is tasked with expanding Ord Minnett's derivatives distribution and advice to retail, high-net-worth and institutional clients.

"As portfolio protection and income strategies become more important, for both our retail and institutional clients, Trent will expand our derivative execution and advice services," said Ord Minnett chief executive Karl Morris.

"With two decades of experience in derivatives, Trent brings an incredible depth of knowledge to the role."

This appointment comes just weeks after Alastair Hunter joined as the stockbroker's head of institutional research.

Hunter also arrived from Goldman Sachs where he served as the local head of research for nearly a decade.

Before that, he worked at Franklin Templeton.

Along with Stewart and Hunter, Ord Minnett has recently hired Damien Gullone as executive director of corporate finance.
