COO to leave IRESS amid global leadership changes

Financial technology provider IRESS has announced changes to its global leadership team that will see the departure of chief operating officer, Steve Barnes, effective towards the end of September 2017.

In a statement to the ASX, the firm said that the changes have been made to "strengthen focus and delivery, drive continued growth and ensure alignment to its long term goals," with Barnes' role being dissolved as part of the process.

Barnes first joined IRESS in 2012. In his role as COO, he has been responsible for the firm's core operations, including client-facing service delivery and support functions. He has 15 years' previous experience working with NAB and MLC, and 10 years working with consulting firm Accenture.

Also leaving IRESS is Matthew Rady, whose role as group executive - financial markets has also been dissolved.

Commenting on both departures, IRESS' chief executive officer, Andrew Walsh, said: "I thank Steve Barnes and Matt Rady for their service and commitment to IRESS. Both have shown dedication in their roles and I wish them all the best for the future."
