COO named at Australian Ethical following restructure

Australian Ethical Investments has announced the promotion of Rob Plow to the role of chief operating officer, effective February 2018.

His promotion follows a reorganisation of the firm's management team, separating the functions of operations and finance, which saw the departure of chief financial officer/chief operating officer, Mark Shanahan.

Plow was most recently head of strategy and execution, a role he has held since April 2017. Prior to joining Australian Ethical, he was with NAB for 10 years in operational and audit roles including chief operations officer of UBank, NAB's digital banking subsidiary. Prior to NAB, he spent 11 years in audit and advisory roles with KPMG.

Commenting on the changes, Australian Ethical's managing director, Phil Vernon, said: "Due to the substantial ongoing growth of our business we have split this combined function into two distinct teams. This reorganisation will allow these teams to provide more focused support for our ambitious growth strategy."

Head of product finance, Mark Simons, has been appointed as the firm's new CFO.
