CommSec appoints new Executive GM

Online broker, CommSec, has confirmed to Industry Moves the appointment of Richard Burns as its new executive general manager, effective September 2018.

Burns previously spent seven years at CommSec before departing in January 2015 for the role of general manager of customer experience and technology at Aussie Home Loans. At the time of his departure, he was CommSec's general manager of customer experience and previously held the roles of head of strategy and head of marketing.

Burns has also served in Sydney-based marketing, product and strategy roles with ETrade Australia and McKechnie Consumer Products.

A CBA spokesperson confirmed that Burns replaces former CommSec managing director, Paul Rayson, who commenced in the role in December 2013. Industry Moves was unable to confirm if Rayson has now departed the bank.
