Co-Head and Head of Distribution departs ANZ ETFS

ANZ ETFS Management has announced the departure later this month of Danny Laidler, ANZ ETFS co-head and head of distribution. Laidler and co-head Adam Smith, who will also be departing the firm, played a role in setting up the joint venture and launching the first suite of products on the Australian Securities Exchange. Following this initial roll-out, according to the firm, both Laidler and Smith have decided to pursue other opportunities.

Kris Walesby has been appointed as the new ANZ ETFS head, effective 10 October 2015. Walesby is currently the head of capital markets for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at London-based Invesco Powershares. Before this he worked for a number of ETF and asset management firms including ETF Securities Ltd, Deutsche Bank and BlackRock.
