Challenger has announced the appointment of Richard Howes to the role of chief executive of distribution, product and marketing, effective 13 February 2017.
His appointment follows news that current chief executive of distribution, marketing and research, Paul Rogan, will be departing in the new year for a new role with a fin-tech financial advice start-up
Howes is currently Challenger's chief executive, life, and will be succeeded in this role by Challenger's current principal executive officer and CIO, Chris Plater.
Commenting on Howe's appointment, CEO Brian Bernari said he has a "strong track record of driving the Challenger Life business and is well positioned to maintain Challenger's distribution and marketing momentum."
He added: "Paul will remain with Challenger during 2017 to work with Richard as we expand our distribution relationships."
