Date: August 2019
Position: Chief Risk Officer

Cbus Super has announced the appointment of Wade Martin as chief risk officer, effective 26 August 2019.

Martin first joined the now-$50 billion super fund in March 2013 and most recently served as its head of risk management.

In acknowledging the importance of the new role, Cbus Super CEO David Atkin said: "The Hayne Royal Commission made it very clear that an organisations risk culture is either a competitive advantage in the marketplace or a material risk to member outcomes."

He added: "Over the last six years Wade has ensured that risk is at the centre of everything that we do. Wade has demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing second line risk and compliance frameworks, including a recognised leading practice in risk culture and governance."

Martin will be joined on Cbus Super's leadership team by two fellow executive appointees: Marianne Walker, as group executive member and employer experience, and Nicholas Vamvakas, as group executive for strategy and growth.

In welcoming all three, Atkin said: "In Wade, Nicholas and Marianne we have three high calibre leaders with proven track records of delivery. I know that they each bring with them a fierce determination and focus on outcomes for members."
