Cbus appoints Employer Representative to board

$40 billion industry super fund, Cbus, has announced the appointment of Denita Wawn as an employer director, effective 12 December 2017.

Wawn is the national CEO of the Master Builders Association (MBA), following her appointment in March this year. She was previously the MBA general manager operations and prior to that was CEO of the Brewers Association of Australia and New Zealand.

She will be joined at Cbus by fellow new-appointee and independent director, John Edwards.

Commenting on both appointments, Cbus' chair, Steve Bracks said: "Cbus is delighted to welcome John and Denita to the Board and we look forward to working with them to continue our program of transformation which is driven by a total focus on getting the best possible retirement outcomes for members."

Wawn added: "A strong understanding of the building and construction industry is a key driver of the Fund's success. It resonates with members and employers."

Wawn, who will serve as an alternate director prior to commencing in December, will replace long-serving employer director Wilhelm Harnisch.
