CBA Executive joins FSC board

The Financial Services Council (FSC) has announced the appointment of Marianne Perkovic to its board, effective March 2018.

Perkovic, who is the executive general manager, Commonwealth Private for the Commonwealth Bank Australia (CBA), replaces former CBA group executive for wealth management and FSC director, Annabel Spring.

Perkovic has 24 years' financial services experience and first joined CBA in January 2010 as Colonial First State's general manager distribution. Previously, she lead the group's wealth management advice business. In 2006, she was CEO of Count Financial, which at the time, made her the youngest female CEO of an ASX listed company.

The FSC has also announced the appointment of Challenger managing director and CEO, Brian Benari, to its board as co-deputy chair.

Commenting on both appointments, FSC chair, Geoff Lloyd, said: "Brian and Marianne bring a combined 50 years' financial services experience and a broad range of skills to their new roles. I look forward to working closely with them as the FSC develops public policy aimed at achieving a comfortable retirement for all Australians and promoting growth in the economy."

Perkovic added: "I am privileged to be appointed to the FSC Board at such a significant time for the industry as we work together to restore trust and ensure the financial wellbeing of Australians."
