CBA EGM departs after nearly 20 years

CBA's executive general manager for strategic development, Michael Cant, is leaving the organisation after nearly 20 years.

Announcing the move on his LinkedIn, Cant says, "I have decided it's time to move on and do something new. I have had a wonderful career at CommBank and have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work in many different roles and divisions, during what has been a fascinating time for the industry. I will miss it."

As to what's next, Cant says the future is wide open. "I finish in April after which I'm planning on having a good break, before embarking on the next stage of my career. Not sure yet what this will be, but looking forward to a fresh challenge and something different."

Cant joined CBA in 2000 as GM for strategic planning at Colonial First State, and has worked across financial services and wealth management. He was previously the managing director for Australian Casualty and Life, now AXA.
