PROPERTY FUNDS ASSOCIATION
Date: April 2021
Position: President

Property Funds Association (PFA) has appointed Andrew Cannane, current executive director of Intertrust Australia, as president of its executive committee.

Cannane, who joined Intertrust in early 2020 following two years as the executive director for institutional funds with Evans Dixon, has also held senior roles with Perpetual Limited and The Trust Company. Perpetual acquired The Trust Company in 2013. He's also been on the PFA executive committee for more than a dozen years.

PFA has also appointed Haben Property Fund executive director Melissa Kingham as the committee's vice president.

PFA CEO Paul Healy said he was delighted to welcome Cannane and Kingham. "They each bring substantial knowledge, passion, and experience to the committee."

Cannane said that his appreciation for unlisted property funds - and the value they provide to investors - inspired him to take on additional responsibilities in the PFA. "Our industry in Australia includes some of the best property investment funds and managers in the world, and I am honoured to represent them as President of the PFA.

"Direct property has an incredible track record at providing income returns and capital growth. The opportunities to use direct property funds for greater diversification is also a major benefit to investors."

Cannane replaces Steven Bennett, who became president in mid-2019.
