A spokesperson for BT Financial Group has confirmed the appointment of new chief investment officer (CIO) Martyn Wild. Wild succeeds Patrick Farrell who, after nine years with the group, is moving on "to pursue other opportunities".
In a memo obtained by the AFR's Street Talk, BT's general manager of platforms and operations John Shuttleworth said: "Martyn comes to us from BT Investment Management (BTIM) where he has had ultimate responsibility for portfolio performance and the continued success of a $12 billion diversified fund business. He brings a wealth of practical experience in selecting and managing investments gained over the past 20 years, grounded by a strong academic background in economics, mathematics and finance."
Wild will commence as CIO on 4 July 2016.
