BTFG appoints Head of General Insurance

BT Financial Group (BTFG) has appointed Gerard McDermott as head of general insurance within its insurance and investments business, effective 14 September 2015. McDermott joins BTFG with over 18 years' experience in financial services, most recently as executive general manager of distribution for personal insurance at Suncorp. In a statement from the firm, David Lees, GM insurance and investments, said McDermott will play a critical role at a time where the business is expanding its line of insurance products via a strategic partnership with Allianz Australia Insurance Limited.
