APPOINTMENT
BNY MELLON INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT AUSTRALIA LIMITED
Date: December 2020
Position: Country Head, Australia

BNY Mellon Investment Management has appointed Paul Bolinowsky as its Australian country head.

Bolinowsky replaces Phil Filippelis, whose departure was announced in June.

In his new role, Bolinowsky will be responsible for the overall strategic direction for the Australian investment management business and will focus on expanding the organisation's presence in Australia.

"Australia is a strategically important market for us in the Asia Pacific region where it's essential to have local presence to support local clients," said BNY Mellon Asia Pacific's head of institutional distribution Deborah Bannon. "Paul's role will be to expand our business amongst the institutional market working closely with clients and prospects, while also looking at strategic opportunities in other channels."

Bolinowsky was most recently the CEO for Glennon Capital and previously held senior management roles at Amundi Pioneer, UBS Global Asset Management, and Alliance Bernstein. "I have been a keen observer of BNY Investment Management's business model for many years," said Bolinowsky "Through its investment firms, such as Alcentra, Mellon and Newton, the firm is able to offer a compelling choice of both traditional and alternative capabilities to Australian institutional investors. It has also demonstrated a willingness to innovate as market conditions evolve. In what has become one of the most discerning markets in the world, I look forward to working with Australian investors in an effort to improve their portfolio outcomes."

Bolinowsky will be Sydney-based and report to Bannon.
