Blain returns to Australia, joins Cromwell board

Former CBRE Asia-Pacific chief executive Rob Blain has returned to Australia following nearly 20 years in Hong Kong. He's retired from his executive chair and global operating committee roles with the organisation and has taken a non-executive directorship with Cromwell Property Group.

He's joined on the board by ex-Lendlease Asia CEO Ooi Eng Peng, who is based in Singapore.

"We are delighted to welcome both Mr Blain and Mr Ooi to the Board," said Cromwell chair Jane Tongs. "Together, they bring over 75 years of industry experience to Cromwell. We will benefit from their expertise, market knowledge and breadth of experience in Asian markets in particular.

"The appointments reinforce our stated commitment to renew the Cromwell Board, which now comprises seven experienced directors. Six of these directors are independent, including myself as Chair."

Tong says the board is continuing to work toward appointing a permanent CEO following the departure of Paul Weightman earlier this year.
