Charlie Lanchester has been appointed head of Australian fundamental equities at BlackRock Australia, reporting to Belinda Boa, the Hong Kong based chief investment officer of alpha strategies, Asia Pacific. Lanchester was previously deputy head of Australian equities at Perpetual Investments, where he worked for 14 years and had primary responsibility for a number of portfolios. Prior to that he was an analyst at Platinum Asset Management in Sydney and began his career at Schroders in London.
Also joining BlackRock is Madeleine Beaumont as senior portfolio manager Australian fundamental equities.
Both positions commence June 1, 2015.
