BlackRock Australia has confirmed to Industry Moves the appointment of Scarlett Dorney as a director of client business, effective late October 2017.

According to the firm, Dorney will be responsible for "leading the multi-manager and institutional sales strategy for a portfolio of key clients, as well as developing new strategic relationships that engage across multiple BlackRock capabilities. Based in Sydney office she will report to Jason Collins, head of client business for BlackRock in Australasia."

Prior to joining BlackRock, Dorney spent five years within the index business at MSCI Inc. where she worked with clients across the asset owner, asset manager, bank, custodian and insurance segments in Australia and New Zealand. She also previously spent six years at Westpac Banking Corporation.

BlackRock has also announced the recent appointment of James Waterworth, who rejoins the firm as a vice president and iShares specialist, and the July appointment of Jeannie Bredberg as a director of retail client business.
