Bibby departs Mutual Trust

GRAEME BIBBY
Mutual Trust Pty Ltd - Chief Investment Officer
DEPARTURE
MUTUAL TRUST PTY LTD
Date: March 2021
Position: Chief Investment Officer

Graeme Bibby has left Mutual Trust as chief investment officer.

A spokesperson for the fund told Industry Moves that the departure came after a strategic review of the organisation's wealth function. "In our 100th year, Mutual Trust continues to evolve by expanding our wealth management offering to meet the needs of our diverse client base. We are bringing the client-facing advisory team in closer alignment with our research team, as part of our broader corporate growth strategy. This new structure led by Jono Gourlay, Head of Wealth, will enable us to deliver richer information and a more responsive service on a wider range of investment offerings."

Bibby took over internal and external portfolio management at Mutual Trust in 2017 following more than seven years as chief investment officer for AIA Australia. He's also held consulting and investment analyst roles with Russell Investments, Mercer, and AllianceBernstein.

Bibby is currently offering an investment consultancy service to senior investment managers and chief investment officers, sharing his experience across the institutional investing and wealth management spaces. He told Industry Moves that he's looking for something more hands-on, similar to the work he did with AIA Australia. In particular, changes in the superannuation and insurance spaces - with more functions being brought in-house - are of particular interest.
